Fibers Prints

This week I have purchased all my materials to start my printing project. For this weeks project I purchased all of my materials from Salvation Army for less then 13 dollars. The materials I decided to use are pillowcases and bed sheets. Sheets make for a great material to make large garments pillowcases make for good sample swatches and tank tops.

I have used to different styles of printing screen-printing and block printing. Personally I like screen-printing it more it allows the user to get cleaner and crisper prints. I played around with multiple different color combinations and came up with yellow and orange combination.

I have taken six different color combinations and then mixed screen-printing to combine to come up with my final product.

I have posted video of how I cut out my stencils with the lazier cutter.

  1. I LOVE salvation army. I've never thought of repurposing old pieces like that though. It will be really cool to see how they turn out.

  2. This is a really neat process. Its really clever of you to reuse vintage linens for contemporary design.
