Vintage Recycle

My name is Kate Collins I am student at College fore Creative studies. My Major is crafts. I specialize in jewelry design and fibers. I use my studies to create new innovative art.  I have always been interested in creating my own designs of clothing and jewelry. Once I started college I became aware very quickly of the waste created by make your own designs that’s when I became passionate about using recycled materials in my design as much as possible.

       RejectApparel is a design concept of recreating clothing from recycling. By purchasing clothing from thrift shops and printing on and refabricating to create fun and modern designs. I have always been interested in fashion and creating my own new look. RejectApperal is taking vintage looks and block printing, screen printing, and refabricating to reduce waste, reuse, and modernize clothing.  RejectApparel is Detroit based were innovation in fashion is flourishing. RejectApparel will allow the buy to have something completely new and unique but with out the cost or waste of a completely new garment.

I will be posting places to find vintage and resale clothing. I will be taking photos of the process of printing on fabric and the application of pigment. I will be showing how color schemes for clothing are created and how to mix pigment to get the precise color that is trying to be achieved. Because the product is hand printed on the fabric that is being recycled has to be natural fibers.
